College of Saint Benedict Athletics

On Saturday, the College of Saint Benedict divers hosted the CSB|SJU Diving Invitational at their home pool at St. Johns University. The divers competed against Gustavus and came out on top with very impressive scores.
 
First year Maggie Pomerenke is this week’s CSB Athlete of the Week after setting the school record in the 11 dive 1-meter springboard competition at the invite one Saturday. Her score of 423.25 leaves her more than 13 points ahead of the previous record holder, who had a score of 409.60 in 1996.
 
In addition, Pomerenke’s score is a NCAA regional qualifying score, which she will have to score one more time at the MIAC competition to officially earn a spot at the regional meet. This score puts Pomerenke at the number one spot in the MIAC conference as of right now.
 
Pomerenke will be shooting for an NCAA regional qualifying score again at the MIAC Championships, which run Feb. 16-18 at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center in Minneapolis.
