Junior Katie Heller had nothing short of a great meet on Friday against St. Kate’s in St. Paul, Minnesota. The sprint freestyler won three events against St. Kate’s on Friday, making her this week’s College of Saint Benedict Athlete of the Week.

Heller’s three wins against St. Kate’s helped the CSB swim and dive team win the MIAC dual meet. In the 50 freestyle, Heller won with 25.76 seconds putting her 20
th in the MIAC this season and she won the 100 freestyle in 56.55 seconds, putting her 23
rd in the MIAC this season.

In addition, Heller was part of the winning 200 medley relay team for CSB with a relay time of 1:54.19 seconds, with Heller swimming the freestyle leg of the relay. Heller has also had three other relay wins this season, and her two individual wins on Friday marked the first of her junior season.

All three of Heller’s times at the St. Kate’s dual meet are season bests, making Heller one to look out for this season. Friday’s meet in St. Paul marked the last of 2016 for CSB, and the team heads off to its training trip to Florida on Jan. 2. Following that, the team has a dual meet against Hamline on Jan. 13.
