College of Saint Benedict Athletics

Junior Niki Fokken has been playing exceptionally well this season and scored in the double digits twice last week, helping the College of Saint Benedict basketball team start its MIAC season with two wins. For her performances last week, Fokken is this week’s CSB Athlete of the Week.
 
In a game against St. Kate’s on Wednesday, Fokken assisted the team in winning by scoring 12 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
 
On Saturday against Carleton, Fokken scored a career high of 25 points to help CSB win 88-52. The score of 88 points was the first time since Feb. 4, 2013, that CSB scored 88 points in a single game.
 
Fokken averaged 13.5 points and eight rebounds per game on the week and she also blocked four shots in two games last week.
 
She leads the team in scoring with 10.5 points per game and is second on the team with 5.8 rebounds per game. This brings CSB to a 6-0 start of their season for the first time since 2003-04.
